Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) Adventure Mountain Explore Treks and Expedition welcomes you to Nepal. Upon your arrival, our company representative, awaiting your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, in Kathmandu, will greet you and drive you to the hotel in Kathmandu. You can freshen up and rest for some time. In the after, we will conduct a short meeting at our office to introduce you to your guide and to brief you regarding the trekking. After the meeting, we will go for a welcome dinner (hosted by the company) at one of the typical Nepali restaurants, where you can enjoy typical Nepali food, ethnic dance and cultural music. However, if your flight arrives late or is scheduled to land in the evening, both the meeting and the dinner will be postponed for the following day. Overnight in a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu. (Dinner)
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule (840m/2755ft) 7 hours Today, we will drive from Kathmandu to Bhulbhule. Therefore, early in the morning we will drive you to the bus station to catch a bus to Bhulbhule. The bus, leaving Kathmandu, will head west and following the Prithvi Highway from Naubise will continue until Bhulbhule. The bus will stop for breakfast and lunch along the highway. It’s a very scenic ride and your eyes will explore beautiful landscape, river, waterfall, vegetation, terrace farms, hamlets, small settlements, traditional houses, roadside hotels, motels and restaurants, throughout the ride. On reaching Pokhara, leaving the highway the bus will continue on a secondary road until Bhulbhule. After 7 hours drive we will finally arrive our destination. The remaining time can either be spent exploring Bhulbhule or resting at the accommodation. Dinner will be served in the lodge. Overnight in a lodge in Bhulbhule. (Dinner)
Day 03: Trek from Bhulbhule to Ghermu Phant (1,117m/3,665ft) 6 hours Today, we will trek from Bhulbhule to Ghermu Phant. Breakfast at Bhulbhule and your trekking guide will complete the necessary formalities at the office of ACAP, after which we will start walking on a fairly easy trail that passes through the green fields and sparse forest until Ngadi. As we leave Ngadi, the trail towards the hydro-project gradually starts to steepen. The trail to Bahundanda branches-off from the trail leading to the hydro-project and a long-steep climb will take us to Bahundanda. You can enjoy terrace farms flaunting seasonal crops on the way Bahundanda. From Bahundanda, following the stone steps, that runs through the green fields and forest, we walk down to Ghermu Phant, past Lili Bhir. A very beautiful waterfall greets you, before reaching Ghermu Phant. Overnight in a lodge in Ghermu Phant. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 04: Trek from Ghermu Phant to Tal (1,700m/5,577ft) 6-7 hour Today, we will trek from Ghermu Phant to Tal. After breakfast, the day’s walk begins with a descent to a suspension bridge across the Myarsyangdi River at Syange. As we cross the bridge, the trail leads us through the gorge to Jagat, which is now a home to Tibetan Highlanders. You can enjoy amazing view of the overhanging rocks. Continuing further, through a few crest and troughs we first walk up to Chamje and then descend to cross the bridge across the Marsyangdi River. After crossing the bridge, the trail leads us through the forest of bamboo and now on a steep stone trail we enter Tal, a wide valley situated in a narrow high walled rocky canyon. The settlement of Tal is sparse and you will only be able to spot a few numbers of houses and families. Overnight in a lodge in Tal. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 05: Trek from Tal to Danakyu (2,300m/7545ft) 5 hours Today, we will trek from Tal to Danakyu. After breakfast, we will cross the bridge across the Marsyangdi River and continue through the forest of bamboo and settlements like Dharapani and Bagarchhap. As we head further you will realize that you are slowly leaving the flat valley, lush green canyons and exotic flora behind and entering the alpine area with alpine plants, grasslands and the forest of Pine. Settlements like Bagarchhap and Dharapani exhibit traditionally built ancient stone houses. Today, you will also get a chance to enjoy the very beautiful view of Manaslu and Annapurna mountain range. You rill reach Danakyu by lunch time. After having lunch, we will spend the remaining day exploring the area: the settlement of people, housing style, nearby monasteries, their lifestyle, culture and tradition. Day 06: Trek from Danakyu to Chame (2,670m/8,759ft) 5 hours Today, we will trek from Danakyu to Chame. After breakfast, we will first climb up to the village of Timang (300-400m above Dnakyu), on a steep stone steps. As you reach the hilltop, you will be greeted by mind blowing 3600 views of Annapurna, Manaslu and other beautiful sister peaks. Enjoying the view from the hilltop, a steep descent through the forest of Pine and Rhododendron, then across the bridge and a climb up the side of another valley, will now take us to the village of Koto. At Koto, once again, you will be greeted by a wonderful view of Annapurna III. From Koto to Chame is about 20 mins walk on a fairly easy trail. Chame is the district headquarter of Manang and is one of the largest villages in this region. The remaining day will be spent exploring the settlement, lifestyle, monasteries and culture and tradition people in Chame. Or, if you are tired, and looking to relax your muscles, you can also spend a few hours dipping your tired muscles in the natural hot spring near the Marsyangdi River. Overnight in a lodge in Chame. Day 07: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,060m/10,039ft) 5 hours Today, we will trek from Chame to Pisang. After breakfast, we will continue on an easy trail through the apple orchard till Bhratang. The trail from Bhratang becomes moderately difficult as it continues up the steep , narrow trail into the dense Oak and Maple forest. Soon we will reach Dhikur Pokhari that greets us with splendid views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna IV and Pangdi Danda. We will enjoy the view for some time and continue heading towards Lower Pisang. As we reach lower Pisang, we have our lunch, rest for some time and in the evening, we hike up to the Upper Pisang and join the monks in their evening prayer. The purpose of hiking up to the Upper Pisang is to acclimatize to the thinning air. After the completion of the prayer, we will again get down to Lower Pisang. Overnight in a lodge in Lower Pisang. Day 08: Trek from Lower Pisang to Manang (3,440m/11,286ft) 5 hours Today, we trek from Lower Pisang to Manang. After having breakfast, the climb though long, is fairly easy. We are gradually approaching the drier part of the Manang District. We will continue up the valley via Humde on a wide and dusty trail accompanied by Mani walls and the views of Pisang Peak and Annapurna III. A large Tibetan village with a number of stupas and Gompas await our arrival at Manang. You can also enjoy magnificent views of Chulu peaks and Gangapurna, from Manang. In the evening, we enjoy the sunset view from Manang. Overnight in a lodge in Manang. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 09: Acclimatization day at Manang Today, instead of heading further, we spend the day in Manang for the purpose of acclimatization. Being active is the best way to acclimatize. Therefore, we can either spend the day visiting a Milarepa’s cave or a half-day hiking to Khangsar or climbing Chhongar viewpoint or visiting ancient monasteries or simply exploring the settlement of Manang. Any option you choose will help you in the process of acclimatization, plus help you enjoy the attraction of Manang. Overnight in a lodge in Manang. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 10: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,050m/13,287ft) 4-5 hour Today, we trek from Manang to Yak Kharka. After breakfast, the trekking to Yak Kharka continues, leaving the Marsyangdi Valley behind. Initially, the uphill climb through alpine forest and juniper bushes is steep for about one and a half hour. As we walk past Tangki and Ghusang the trail becomes easy up till the Yak Kharka. You can enjoy the view of Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Tilicho peak along the way. You will also get a chance to spot drove of sheep and herds of yak grazing on the sparsely scattered juniper shrubs. Overnight in a lodge in Yak KKharka. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 11: Trek from Yak Kharka to High Camp (4,833m/15,856ft) 5 hours Today, we trek from Yak Kharka to the High Camp. The trail leading further to High Camp from Yak Kharka is wide, but steep up till Letdar. From Letdar, we will continue , crossing the bridge across the Kone River, we walk past a scree slope and finally walk all the way up to the Thorung Phedi. Spending a night at the high camp makes the following day’s ascension to Thorung La Pass easy. Therefore, instead of staying at Thorung Phedi, we hike all the way up to the High camp. The high camp greets us with a splendid panorama of Annapurna peaks, Yakwakang and Chulu West. Overnight in a lodge in high camp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 12: Trek from high camp to Muktinath (3,760m/12,335ft) via Thorung La Pass (5,416m) 8 hours Today’s walk is the longest and the most difficult walk, during the entire trekking. Starting high camp, we walk all the way to Mukatinath, after climbing the Thorung La Pass. We start early in the morning and continue up on a steep trail. It takes about 4 hours to reach the pass. Once we are on the pass, you will be greeted with an awe inspiring view of summits rising above 6000m. You can also enjoy the very beautiful view of the Kali Gandaki Valley and Yakwakang. After enjoying the view, we will now hike down to the very famous shrine of Hindu and Buddhist- the Temple of Muktinath. The trail is easy in the beginning, steep in the between and easy again, before reaching Muktinath. While descending, the stunning view of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri will keep your eyes busy. By the time you reach Muktinath, you will be tired. So, we will spend the remaining time resting our tired muscles. Overnight in a lodge in Mukatinath. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 13: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,720m/8,923ft) 5-6 hour Today, we will trek from Muktinath to Jomsom. However, before heading towards Jomsom, we will first visit the very famous shrine of both Hindu Buddhist –Mukatinath, after breakfast. After exploring the temple area, we will also visit the temple of Jwala Mai. We will then hike down to Jharkot to explore the ruins of the original palace of the King of Mustang and a few chortens and monasteries around Jharkot. After exploring the area for some time, we will now walk down to Kaag Beni. From Kaag Beni, following the old salt trade route, we will hike all the way down to Jomsom. In the evening, we spend our time exploring the Jomsom area. Overnight in a lodge in Jomsom. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 14: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) We do not have a direct flight from Jomsom to Kathmandu. Therefore, today we first fly from Jomsom to Pokhara and then from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara is early in the morning. This flight is very thrilling as it flies through the Kali Gandaki gorge. From Kathmandu to Pokhara, it’s a beautiful scenic flight. From the airport in Kathmandu, we will transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Kathmandu. Overnight in a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu. (Breakfast)
Day 15: Final departure Today is the last day of your trip in Nepal and with AME Treks and Expedition. Therefore, if your flight is scheduled early in the morning, one of our company representatives will drive you to the airport as per your flight departure time, after breakfast. However, if your flight is scheduled in the evening, you can go shopping around the popular markets in Kathmandu and later we will transfer you to the airport as per your flight schedule.
