The Kathmandu Valley cultural trek is designed for those who do not have enough time for a long the trek. Kathmandu valley trek starts from Sundarijal, which lies northeast of Kathmandu and is about a 40 minute drive from the main city. The trail leads you up a steep climb through stone steps which have clustered sights of the city in the distance. At the beginning, the trails leads to a large waterfall and the dam of Sundarijal, which is the main water supply of the Kathmandu Valley. There are a few villages with mud houses that you will pass through; the main village you will see on your way is Mulkharka, which you may rest in before reaching Chisopani. The village is culturally rich, having mixed ethnic groupssuch as the Tamang, Sherpas and Newars. Then, the trail leads toward Nagarkot through Jhule village, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas including a beautifulsunrise and sunset view. The trail ends at Change Narayana, which is listed as a World heritage site and is also the oldest temple of Kathmandu Valley, dating back to 5th century AD.

Day 1: Arrival day (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport, we will greet you and assist you to the Hotel. We meet later on that day or the next day ( as per your convinient) to take you to our head office to brief you on your upcoming trip with us. At that time we will introduce you to your tour guide. If your flight arrives on time, we will take you to one of the most popular local restaurants with delicious Nepalese food, cultural music and ethnic dance. This will give you a glimpse into the different ethnic groups of the country. If you arrive late in the evening we can do this the next day.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft)
After breakfast, you will begin a city tour of Kathmandu where you will see the main attractions of the valley. On this tour you will visit the Boudhnath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple, Swyambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square (the old palace). After finishing the city tour, we will meet again to check your clothing and trekking equipment (sleeping bag, down jacket and trekking boots). This evening will be spent in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Sundarijal and hike to Chisopani (2,165m/7,103ft)
In the morning, a short drive towards northeast of the city and your hiking route begins from Sundarijal (literally means beautiful water). The stone steeps trail leads you to entrance gate of Shivapuri National Park, short registration formalities then continue walk towards the dam of Sundarijal which is the main water supply for Kathmandu valley. The trail leads to Mulkharka through stone steps where you will enjoy the beautiful mud houses and farm terraces with the Kathmandu valley view. After that the trail leads you to the top of the ridge at Deurali through the forest of Rododhendern. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery from the ridge including Annapurna, Manaslu, langtang, Dorje lakpa and may more. Then the trail drops down to Chisopani. After short rest at the lodge, walk around the village to enjoy its landscape and life of the people. Stay overnight at the Lodge.
Day 4: Hike to Nagarkot (1,932m/6,338ft)
Morning sunrise view and breakfast at the lodge, your day starts walking through an unpaved road towards Jhule village which is an example of mix cast group and ethnic group. On the way you will have great views of Himalaya and forest including Kathmandu valley view from the ridge. It is an easy day and interesting landscape with different cultural village and beautiful farm terrace. At the end a short climbing to Nagarkot which is situated on the top of the hill, having great Himalayan range of 360 degree angle. Spend your evening to stroll around the town and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Hike to Changu Narayan and Drive to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
You will get a wakeup call as per sunrise time for great sunrise view and magnificent views of Snow peaked Mountain from east to west. You can enjoy the views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, langtang Himal, Gaurishankar, Dorje lakpa, Mt. Everest and many more. After breakfast your trail leads you downhill through the ridge towards Changu Narayan. There are interesting village pass through where you will explore their life from very close as you walk their courtyard. Finally you will reach at Changu Narayan temple which is the oldest temple of Kathmandu valley built in 5th century AD. After exploring the temple, drive to Bhaktapur (city of Devotees) to explore around and continue drive to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Departure day
Today is the last day of the trip with us. If you would like to extend your holiday with us, we will help you if you require otherwise we will assist you to the airport as per your flight departure time. If your flight is late evening, you can do final shopping or manage your photos of the trip then final departure from the airport.
