If you’re seeking a rewarding hiking experience near kathmandu valley, the Champa Devi hike is a better destination for hikers which can be completed in a day. This hiking trail offers the panoramic views of kathmandu valley, majestic Himalayan peaks,and lush landscapes.
This day hike will reward you a breathtaking views of valley, hills, and distant peaks. The area has historical and cultural significance, with a temple dedicated to Champa Devi, a goddess worshipped by locals. The trail passes through lush forests, terraced fields, and serene landscapes. This hike is not only a rewarding trek but also a great spot for picnic.
The hike is approximately 7 to 10 kilometres(4.3 to 6.2 miles) round trip, starting from Pharping, a town located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) south of Kathmandu. It typically takes about 4 to 6 hours to complete the hike, including both ascent and descent. The hike generally ends at the Champa Devi Temple and for the return jounery you’ll retrace your steps back to Pharping. But this hike offers other alternative routes for return journey.
For the best experience, spring(May to March) or autumn (September to November prefers as best seasons, in these seasons the sky will clear and offers the stunnig views. Get your bag packed with sufficient water, snacks, a map or GPS device and basic first aid kit to ensure safe and enjoyable hike.
