Tibet, has been a mysterious land of lakes and rivers, mighty snow peaks, and beautiful and ancient monasteries - with its spiritual air, an unearthly mystical land of Buddhist culture and philosophy. Tibet emerged in the 7th century as a unified empire, but it soon divided into a variety of territories. The atmosphere is severely dry nine months of the year, and average annual snowfall is only 18 inches, due to the rain shadow effect. Western passes receive small amounts of fresh snow each year but remain traversable all year round. Low temperatures are prevalent throughout these western regions, where bleak desolation is unrelieved by any vegetation beyond the size of low bushes, and where wind sweeps unchecked across vast expanses of arid plain. The Indian monsoon exerts some influence on eastern Tibet. Northern Tibet is subject to high temperatures in the summer and intense cold in the winter.
Our Tibet tour takes you to visit Dalai Lama's Potala, Norbulingka and visit Barkhor Market in Lhasa including other interesting places of visit and it also covers a vast tract of this ancient land, crossing spectacular passes, through unforgettable landscapes and heading right into the spiritual heart of the country. The road also passes through quiet Nyalam, the historical Shigatse and Gyantse which begins from Kathmandu through friendship highway to Everest Base Camp and ends at Lhasa.
Day 01: Kathmandu to Nyalam -3,750m (12,300ft)-156Kms
Day 02: Nyalam to Tingri (4390m) -147 Kms.
Day 03: Tingri (4390m) - Ronbuk (5100m)- 105 Kms - visit Everest Base Camp
Day 04: Xegar to Lhatse (4050 M)- 245 Kms.
Day 05: Lhatse -Sakya Monastery to Shigatse (3900m)- 185 Kms.
Day 06: Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m)-90kms
Day 07: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m)-259kms.

Day 01: Kathmandu to Nyalam -3,750m (12,300ft)-156Kms
We would handover you paper visa and flight tickets a day earlier and out tour begins early morning drive to the border at Kodari which is an interesting driving through friendship highway. Our Tibetan guide will greet you at the border that will help to do immigration formalities which takes place on the both side of the border. After checking formalities, continue drive to Nylam through the road at the valley with beautiful scenery and waterfall. Stay overnight at Nylam.
Day02: Nyalam to Tingri (4390m) -147 Kms.
Today, after breakfast drive to Tingri (Aprox 5-6 hours) crossing two spectacular passes. Nyalam pass (3800m) and Lalung La pass (5082m). Today you will have excellent views of Himalaya which provides fabulous view of the high mountains including, Mount Everest (8848m) Jugal Himal, Mt. Makalu (8464m) and more. Stay overnight at Tingri.
Day03: Tingri (4390m) - Ronbuk (5100m)- 105 Kms - visit Everest Base Camp
After breakfast easy and short drive to Rongbuk which is name of the village and monastery which is the highest monastery in Tibet. You walk around the Base camp of Everest and enjoy the views of the world,s highest mountain. After exploring the base camp, drive back to Ronbuk for overnight.
Day 04: Xegar to Lhatse (4050 M) via Xegar- 245 Kms.
After sunrise in the morning, vist Rongbuk monastery and drive down to Lhatse via Xegar. Today we cross the highest pass on our journey, the Gyamtso La [5220m]. The view from the top is incredible with uninterrupted views stretching from Makalu to Shishapangma range. After continue drive to Lhatse, stop for the day. Stay overnight.
Day 05: Lhatse -Sakya Monastery to Shigatse (3900m)- 185 Kms.
After breakfast we drive to Shigatse from the north side of the road to see the clear view of massive Thangka wall. En route visit popular Tashilunpo monastery and set of Panchen Lama until death in 1989. After 6 hours drive stop at Shigatse for overnight.
Day 06: Shigatse to Gyantse (3950m)-90kms
After breakfast visit the monastery and open market at Shigatse and surrounding area then drive to Gyantse. Visit Khumbu Stupa and Phalkot monastery in the evening and stay overnight at Gyantse.
Day 07: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650m)-259kms.
Today we drive to Kamba la pass and Karo la which has spectacular views of mountains and dry valley to reach to Lhasa. There is very beautiful lake (Yamdrok Tso) on the way. After cross Yarlung Tsangpo also called Brahamapurta River you will see distant view of Potala Palace. Stop capital of Tibet at Lhasa for overnight.
Day 08: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
Our tour stops at Lhasa for 2 days to discover Lhasa including popular Potala palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbu Linka, Drepung monastery, Sera Monastery and Lhasa market. It covers all interested places of Lhasa. Stay overnight.
Day 09: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
Our tour stops at Lhasa for 2 days to discover Lhasa including popular Potala palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbu Linka, Drepung monastery, Sera Monastery and Lhasa market. It covers all interested places of Lhasa. Stay overnight.
Day 10: Departure from Lhasa to your onward destination
Today is the last day of Tibet tour. In the morning we will drive to the Gongkar airport of Lhasa which is an hour and 20 minutes drive from the hotel to take flight towards Kathmandu. It is one of the most scenic flights of the world. You are suggested to take to take right hand side of the seat in a plane to enjoy the beauties of Himalaya. We would pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel if you require. If not our trip ends at Lhasa airport but we are glad to meet you in Kathmandu to get feedback of the trip.
