The Everest region is one of the most popular trekking regions in Nepal, offering some of the most spectacular scenery in the country. There are several ways to start this trip of a lifetime. The most common way is by flying to Lukla airport (2800m) and then trekking to Dingboche and then back to Lukla before returning to Kathmandu. The Mani Rimdu festival & Everest view trek is designed for adventurous trekkers who have limited time and still want great views of Mt. Everest and many more peaks within the region, while also experiencing the popular festival of Mani Rimdu. This trek takes you through the most popular villages of the Khumbu, encountering the friendliness of the local Sherpas along the way. Sherpas have a rich culture and interesting traditions that must be experienced first-hand.

The Mani Rimdu festival is the most important festival in the Tengboche manastery. It consists of 9 days of ceremonies and meditation (Drupchen). This is concluded by a special blessing ceremony given by Tengboche Rinpoche to the public and the world renowned Mask Dances performed by the monks at Tengboche Monastery. During this festival, many people will gather together from the Khumbu region and the SoluKhumbu region. The main days of Mani Rimdu fluctuate from year to year- check with us before booking to ensure that the timeframe works for you. The festival is usually in late October going into early November.

The highlights of the trek are the Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche monastery, and beautiful views of the Himalayas. Mani rocks (Prayer rocks) along the way are incredible monuments to behold. This trek is a great fusion of incredible scenery, challenging high altitude trekking, and coming into contact with the Sherpa people and their unique culture.
