The  8 days Lhasa to Lhasa tour starts from Lhasa and ends at Lhasa with a visit to the Everest Base Camp. It includes some of the gorgeous cities of Tibet like Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse and Rongbuk. One of the main attraction of this trip is a visit to Dalai Lama’s Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. The route contains the beautiful Yamdrok Tso and Tibetan monasteries like Sera, Drepung, Jokhang Temple, Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot, Tashilhunpho, Sakya and Rongbuk.

This tour consist all the important tourist destinations in southern and central Tibet. This includes  a visit to Rongbuk monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp. This tour starts with a flight to Lhasa, after meeting our representative you will explore the cultural and historic sites of Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse. Driving overland in a jeep across the Tibetan highlands and Mt. Everest Base Camp with a view amazing north face of Everest is the main attraction of this tour.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa (3,650m/11,972ft)

You will arrive in Lhasa directly from your country or you can start your tour from Kathmandu nepal. Please let us knonw how do you want ot start. However upon your arrival our representative will pick you up and drive to the hotel in Lhasa. You will spend your time to explore the market and overnight in Lhasa.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Lhasa: Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace and Tibet Museum

After having breakfast you will start Lhasa sightseeing. That day you will visit the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. Amazing view of entire city is possible from the Potala Palace. Private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels are also viewed from there. You will then visit the Tibet Museum which contains the collection of around 1000 artifacts related to the cultural history of Tibet. That night also you will stay in the hotel in Lhasa.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing: Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar

After having breakfast you will visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. The 14th century built Drepung Monastery is believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in past.  The white-washed walls and golden roofs of Sera Monastery is mind-blowing . The deep rooted mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism is unrevealed by the Jokhang Temple.  After that you will stroll  around the Barkhor Bazar. That night you will stay in the hotel in Lhasa.

Day 04: Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m/12,956ft)

After having breakfast you will take a scenic drive to Gyantse. The Khamba La Pass (4,794m) is crossed on the way. You will stop at Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake)- a sacred lake for enjoying its beauty and also the beautiful Nazin Kang Sang glacier (7,252m).Then after you will reach the Karo La Pass (5,045m).You will then visit the Khumbum Stupa, Phalkot Monastery and Gyantse Dzong (fortress). You will stay that night in Gyantse.

Day 05: Gyantse to Shigatse (3,900m/12,795 ft)

After having breakfast you will  drive towards Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. You will visit the popular Tashilhunpo Monastery which holds both historical and cultural importance for being founded by Gendun Drup, the First Dalai Lama in 1447 in Shigatse.  You will rest for the whole day  which is for the acclimatization for the next day's drive. you will stay that night at Shigatse.

Day 06: Shigatse to Rongbuk (5,000m/16,400ft)

After having breakfast, you will start your trip to Rongbuk. On the way you will stop at the Sakya Monastery to visit it. you will then continue our drive till we reach Rongbuk. In Rongbuk, there is Rongbuk Monastery that is  located at the foot Mount Everest and is highest monastery of the world. You will spend that night in Rongbuk.

Day 07: Rongbuk to Lhasa with a visit to the Everest Base Camp

You will start your trip to the Everest Base Camp (5,250m/17,220ft)in morning. you will absorb the spectacular views of high mountains like Cho Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft), Shishapangma (8,013m/26,289ft) and, of course, the mighty Everest (8,848m/29,028ft) also known as Mt. Chomolongma in the Tibetan side. After the enjoyable stay at the Everest Base Camp, you will return back to Lhasa. you will spend that night in Lhasa.

Note: Sometimes the local Government may close the trial for vehicle because of the worst weather conditions without prior notice

Day 08: Departure day

This is the end of our trip, if you wish you can do shopping. At your departure time, a representative from our company will take you to the airport.

While you are on mountain especially for the trek basic mountain accommodations are available where basic facilities are available such as hot shower, toilets, comfortable mattress, solarelectricity lights.

Only breakfasts will be available to you from us. You are expected to pay for lunches and dinners on your own. You will mainly eat Tibetan bread, dal (lentil soup), bhat (rice), tsampa porridge and other simple local foods.
