The Buddhist circuit of Nepal tour takes you to some of the important Buddhist sites of the world including the birthplace of Buddha – Lumbini. Nepal is influenced by Buddhist culture because Buddha was born in Lumbini Nepal. Buddha visited his father’s kingdom and converted his family and Shakya clan to Buddhism. The Shakya clans later moved to Kathmandu valley and established Buddhism in Kathmandu too.
The Buddhist circuit of Nepal tour focuses on those who are interested in exploring the birth place of Buddha. It provides information about birth of Buddha and surroundings around his birthplace. Lumbini is world’s famous pilgrimage site and a most fascinating place in Asia. . Lumbini is situated on the south of Kathmandu. It is rich in history, culture, religion, arts, and architecture. You will get an opportunity to meet different monks, do meditation and enjoy local cuisines. Some of the attractions of this tour are the sacred garden which contains the site of the birth of Buddha, the Mayadevi temple, the Pashkarni pond and the Ashoka pillar. The sacred garden of Lumbini is a World Heritage Site that contains monasteries from many Buddhist countries.
The Buddhist Circuit of Nepal tour contains many Buddhist heritage sites in Kathmandu as well. In Kathmandu you will visit Boudhanath and Swayambhunath. Through this tour you will get information about the life of Buddha, his enlightenment and teachings. Day 1: Arrival day
Upon your arrival, our representative will receive you in Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be transferred to the Hotel. That evening you will visit our office to meet your guide and to plan your trip. We will take you for a dinner to one of the popular local restaurant with delicious Nepali food, cultural music and ethnic dance. However if you arrive late, we can plan it the next day.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing
After the breakfast, your guide will receive you in the hotel and take you to the Kathmandu city tour for exploring the traditional monuments and cultural heritages. You will be mesmerized by the famous world heritage sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, famous Hindu pilgrimage Pashupati Nath temple, Swoyambhu Nath Temple (Monkey Temple), world famous Buddhist monument Boudha Nath, ancient Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. You will further discover traditional Nepali life styles, origin and existence of ancient royal palaces, centuries old monuments, Shrines, Statues etc. You will meet us again after finishing the tour for discussing further about the trip. You will spend that night in the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Lumbini
After having breakfast in the hotel, we will drive 300 kms to Lumbini - the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Some of the attractions of Lumbini are the sacred garden which contains the site of the birth of Buddha, the Mayadevi temple, the Pashkarni pond and the Ashoka pillar. We will walk through the Sacred Lumbini Garden to view Ashoka pillar, the Maya Devi Temple with its bas-relief sculpture depicting Maya Devi holding on a branch of pipal tree and giving birth to the infant Buddha who stand on a lotus pedestal. We will visit the ancient Kapilvastu museum that contains pottery, jewelry and ornaments. We will stay that night in the hotel in Lumbini.
Day 4: Explore day in Lumbini
After having breakfast, we will drive to visit religious and archeological sites of Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Siddharthanagar, Niglihara, Sagarhawam Aurorakot. Tilaurakot is the ancient capital of Shakya. Kudan was where Buddha met his father after his enlightenment. Gotihawa is the birth place of Krakuchanda Buddha. Niglihawa is where Kanakmuni Buddha was born. Sagarhawa is the archeological findings as "place of the Massacre of the Shakyas". We will stay that night at the hotel in Lumbini.
Day 5: Drive to Kathmandu
After morning tour around Lumbini we will drive back to Kathmandu by private vehicle. In the afternoon we will reach the hotel in Kathmandu. We will then have a dinner together and discuss about the trip. You will stay that night in a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 6: Departure day.
This day is the last day of your trip. If you would like to extend your stay we will assist you otherwise we will help you transfer to the Tribhuvan International Airport as per your flight departure time.
